About our Professional Genealogists

Chip Melick & Suzanne Stewart, Professional Genealogists

The decision to hire a genealogist is an important one, and we want you to be comfortable with our expert genealogical services.

Richard (Chip) Melick

Richard (Chip) Melick has been a professional genealogist since 1994 providing genealogy research services tracing genealogy and family history by the hundreds throughout the United States and abroad.

He has done extensive research throughout the United States as well as Europe.

Chip’s interest in genealogy charts began while researching his own family history and it became a means of displaying his family history in a clear graphic manner to bring it to life.  Of equal interest to him is providing genealogy research services and providing a professional genealogy report that is fully sourced with footnotes to authenticate the researched discoveries. His reports include graphics explaining geographic and historic context as well as an ahnentafel chart to graphically describe the ancestral lineage.

He is a member of the National Genealogical Society, Association of Professional Genealogists, a member and volunteer for findagrave.com, and a guest speaker.

Suzanne (Melick) Stewart

Suzanne’s passion for genealogy began in the early 1990s. Sharing her enthusiasm for genealogy research with her brother, Chip, together they started up a web-based company that became a leader in providing genealogical research services.

Suzanne’s 30+ years of passion for genealogy includes discovering ancestors back to the seventeenth century as well as forward to living missing heirs and beneficiaries. Her areas of specialty are England, Canada, Indonesia, Italy, the Mid-Ohio Valley, Netherlands, New England, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Scotland, and Sicily. But, as a professional genealogist, Suzanne can work record sets in any area of the world that has them.

Suzanne also specializes in analyzing DNA. She was mentored by Jeffrey D Wexler, one of the best renowned DNA experts in the world. She is also the co-administrator of the Mellick/Melick/Malick DNA project on FTDNA with her cousin, John Mellick. Whether you have hit a brick wall, were adopted or just don’t know your family history, DNA is a great source to use. Comparing segments of chromosomes with your DNA matches can provide the answers to your ancestors.

Unlike any professional genealogists in the world, Melick Professional Genealogists merges the science of genealogy research with heirloom-quality genealogy pedigree charts to discover and depict their client’s family history.
